Pumpkin pumpkins everywhere and not a pie to spare

So we all had an exciting and fun-filled time in North Carolina this past weekend. Paul was hiking and camping along with 35 other men in Pisgah National Forest, and Rawls and I went to see my mom and dad's new place in Winston-Salem.
Rawls and I made the drive up to my parents on Friday afternoon to see their new place and hang out with Rawls's cousins from Lynchburg who came down along with his aunt (Paul's sister) who also came down to join us. We all had a great time, and all the grandkids got to sleep in my mom and dad's trailer together while Anna and myself slept in the house. My parents have a HUGE yard so all the kids just ran and played everywhere.
On Saturday, we went to a Pumpkin Patch which was alot of fun, and it had alot of neat things for the kids to do! (Most of the pictures you will see are from there.) They had a petting zoo which Rawls was crazy about! He loves him an animal! And he got to ride a pony- first time ever! Warning- there are a lot of pictures:)
Rawls and Harrison- "I can almost reach him"
First Pony ride- he loved it for the most part

Haircuts and Craft time

So I have been putting off Rawls' first haircut for awhile now. I knew he needed it but there is just something about the first haircut that makes the step from "baby" to "big boy" that I was not sure I was ready for. However, with the onset of the wings on each side of his head and the great 80's rat-tail in the back, I finally made the appointment. We went to this super cute children's place where they have little planes and firetrucks for the kids to sit in while they get their haircut. I figured lets make this as cute and maybe as fun as possible. We started out great as you will notice from the pictures, playing with the bell on the front of the firetruck, eating a lollipop and looking in the mirror. Then... nothing would make him happy, and he was not enjoying any of it- the bell, the lollipop or the mirror! All Rawls knew was that he wanted this stranger to stop touching his head! However, we finally got it finished- the lady doing it did a phenomenal job considering for the last 10 minutes, Rawls was screaming- I know, Poor Baby... I have before and after pictures and then during the happy part of the haircut, the crying part is on the video camera but I was busy trying to entertain him during that time and could not take a picture. - I mean- who wants to see a crying baby anyways?
Minutes before the haircut

In the firetruck and all is still well

A lollipop helps for a little bit

Post haircut ( Daddy just got a haircut too a few
days before)

And ice cream makes everything better - "More Please"

Now that the exciting part of the blog is posted (Rawls that is of course) , I  have become slightly addicted to a new website called Pinterest. If you have never been on there, you should check it out and follow me, I have some super cute pictures of stuff. Anyways, what it is, is a place (online of course) where you can post ideas and pictures of anything you find on the internet. There is everything from crafts, to fashion to recipes. So it has gotten the craftsy side of me out, and I have done few little projects from ideas that I got on Pinterest. So although I might spend a lot little bit of time on there, I feel like I am getting ideas in order to be productive and creative- sounds good right?:) My first two projects were a fall wreath and some super cute candy corn cones. Here are the pictures of them:
Cute- right?

Love these!
And this is what we are having for dinner tonight (also from Pinterest)
Cheesy Chicken and Rice Bake

SOOOOOO- see it is not a waste of time. It is a time for me to be inspired with new ideas and recipes:)

And in Paul's domain here in the Karnes' home- he has been busy getting ready for the men's hike at our church. He is on the leadership team for it, and they will be heading up to Pisgah National Forest near Asheville this Thursday, so if you think about it say a prayer for them. There will be about 40 guys going, and it is a great time for them.
So this was a super lengthy post, but we had a lot to cover:)

Do not forget to stop and enjoy the little things of life and be in awe of God's glory all around .
