the karnes korner: August 2011

I am not even going to start making excuses for my lack of blogging over the past oh 10 months! Because how do you come up with an excuse for that?! I mean seriously! Let me give you a synopsis in a nutshell of the happenings in the Karnes' household during 2011.

Rawls turned 1 in May
Rawls started walking July 4th weekend
Paul and I went hiking/camping in Pisgah National Forest for our 8th Anniversary
My mom and dad moved to the east coast (finally:) last month and have already been to Charleston twice
Rawls' dedication at church was 2 weeks ago on August 21st
Billy and Susan have come down a few times this summer as well
Paul began learning how to surf from one of our friends, and now he can officially say he surfed in hurricane swells thanks to Irene.
I (Kara) decided to go back to school and get my Masters in History- what the heck was I thinking!
Now- Rawls is not just walking everywhere- he is running around and climbing on EVERYTHING!!!

So that is just a few of the major happenings this year- I am seriously going to try and be a better blogger- I PROMISE! I have discovered that I forget things that I think for sure I will remember. Like when Rawls got all of his teeth in- he now has like 16 teeth and I could not even begin to tell you when they all came in (sorry mom). I tell myself that I will remember this stuff, and then all of the sudden I don't. I want to do better- honestly! So if it gets past 1 week and you haven't received a blog update from me, I am giving you permission to email me and ask or demand one.
